Written by Tomasz Maciaszek

I spent years living with cluster headaches doctors couldn't explain. This book is what I found once I stopped only looking for a physical cause.

Author's note

Hello my dear friend,
It is my pleasure to meet you here. I hope this book will be informative, transforming, and a genuine companion on your own journey toward health and well-being. Whatever brought you to these pages, your own pain, someone else's, or simply a quiet curiosity about the connection between body and mind, I'm glad that you're here. Books like this one, have a way of finding people exactly when they need them, and if that's true for you too, then our meeting is no accident. What follows is a part of personal account, partly exploration of trauma and the nervous system, and partly the strange and quiet ways the body speaks when words run out. I didn't set out to become someone who understood any of this. Life simply left me no other choice.

Three Parts

What's inside

Personal data. Established science. A new psychosomatic model

For everyone who has ever been told 'it's all in your head,' and believed it.

Written to be checked, not just believed.

Before publication, the manuscript is being reviewed by headache researchers for medical accuracy. Where the book draws on established neurology, it says so. Where it's my own synthesis, it says that too.

"The mechanism described is established in neurology. The connection to early emotional encoding is my own synthesis, based on my case and the clinical literature on trauma's neurobiological effects."
